Easy DIY Keepsake Frame Ornament

I was at Michaels Craft store the other day and came across these cute little ornate frames in the $1.50 bin near the checkouts.. As soon as I saw them I knew they would be perfect for our Christmas Tree as an Ornament..  See the easy steps below on how to make one for yourself.

All you need:
Glue Gun
Jute Ribbon
Paint
Scissors
Picture
Mini Frames (Michaels)
They original Mini Frames were Gold and Silver.. To make them flow better with our Christmas Decor I painted the frames with 1 coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old white for a nice matte Shabby look.. Then I softly sanded the edges to distress and age it a bit.

I used the frame insert to trace the pictures I had chosen. I wanted one of the Frames to be of my husband and I, so I chose a picture from our wedding. For the other frame I wanted it to be of our Daughter, so I chose her first Santa picture, from last christmas.
To Make an Easy Tree Hanger I cut a piece of jute about 7 inches in length and folded in half and knotted it. Then I glued the jute knot to the back of the frame at the top. And trimmed the excess jute.
An there you have it.. A Simple & Pretty Picture Frame Ornaments
I am definitely going to try to make them a yearly tradition!!..I plan on making them with our Daughter's latest Santa picture! Now I just have to stock up on a ton of mini frames ;)
I just love how these Ornaments turned out.. I originally made them for Our Christmas Tree..
But how great of a Grandparent gift would they make? I think they will LOVE it!
