So I've been up to a little more Thrift Shop hunting.. Here is my latest find.. a $3 Metal bookcase! I mean its crazy when you can find FURNITURE for some Dollar store pricing. Don't get me wrong its not this amazing antique piece, its just a metal bookcase, probably not an overly expensive piece to begin with but I just loved the ornate details on the sides and the sizing was right. When I first bought it I wasn't quite sure where it would go but with some testing all around our home, It ended up in our Master Bedroom. Stay tuned as I will be posting our Full Master Bedroom in the next few days.
I sprayed it with 2 coats Rust-Oleum Painters touch spray paint in Flat white. I ended up using 2 cans for full coverage.. so in the end the entire bookcase makeover cost was under $20!
This is how our bedroom looked with out the shelving unit.
Now I have much loved extra display space behind our French Provincial Chair in our bedroom.
It rocks that corner. It looks great. I too like the ornate design, adds so much interest.
ReplyDeleteAlso, your bedroom wall colors are very similar to mine and I was wondering the other day whether I should go all white for the furniture (some awfully ugly oak dressers. Your photos helped me decide to go ahead and try it.
Thank you! I love the look of painted wood.. I know its not for everyone but I find it makes the details on furniture just pop and freshens and brightens up any space. Best of Luck!
