Our daughter turned 2 a few weeks ago.. It's so hard to believe how fast time flies... Just after she was born I was shopping on Etsy.. surprise, surprise .. And found this great blue and white ruffled dress in a size 2. Right then her 2nd Birthday theme was born! I just knew I had to have it for her. I really didn't know much about Alice in wonderland until I started planning this party.. I recently watched the movie to get some inspirations .. Lets just say this is a simplified, pastel, girly version of the Real 'Alice in wonderland'. The next thing I just had to have was this great personalized cut out banner.. I have been holding onto these items for over a year :).. so as much as this was a party for my daughter it was Mommy's vision and party planning coming into fruition. See all the details below...
I am all about the LITTLE DETAILS!! I tried to keep the budget low but keep the cute factor high ;) So a lot of the items we made or already had from her bedroom or our wedding decor. The arrow directional signs are just made from cardboard and painted with various acrylic paints and then I stencilled some "Alice in wonderland" themed words in charcoal paint. The custom name cut out banner is from this Etsy shop. My amazing baker of a Mom made my Nana's Meringue cookies in these great pastel colours .. They were a Huge hit!
For the main food table we kept the decor theme Pastel and Alice in wonderland based. With Teapots a vintage clock, a Alice in wonderland book, painted mason jars to hold utensils. And of course a chalkboard hanging with 'Elise' our daughters name in Wonderland. We filled teapots with fresh pastel pink and blue hydrangeas.
Because it was a toddlers birthday party.. Kraft dinner was a must! We used our 3 tier metal bird stand to hold pink and white striped bowls full of Kraft Dinner.
For Goody Bags for the kids I filled these cute metal baskets with a few fun dollar store items and tied it with a custom personalized Tag with our daughters picture on it..
To complete the Alice in Wonderland Tablescape I framed this cute Wonderland frame insert. It is from the same Shop on Etsy where I ordered her adorable printable Invitations from.
The wall art consisted of multiple chalkboards and covering my current dining room art with jumbo cards that I had ordered off Amazon to go with her theme. I figured once she got a little older the cards would be fun to actually play a card game with too.
We also hung a mix of playing cards from our upper floor into the foyer. I just taped the cards over a piece of Jute ribbon for easy hanging. In our dining room I found these adorable felt bunny chair covers form Dollar tree for only $1.25.. so I bought 2 for our captain chairs on either side of our dining hutch.
My talented Mom made this polka dotted Burlap Happy Birthday banner for her granddaughter. If you are interested you can find one for yourself here on her Etsy shop.
For Elle's yummy dessert table I mixed some of our white ceramics and silver. I used pink and white paper straws to hold balls of cotton candy. Vintage books prop up a wooden number 2 from her bedroom wall. The E is part of a LOVE bowl set I have and it works out perfect for her Birthday's plus its one of the first letters she's learned :). This year I decided to have the cupcakes made for us, last year I made them, a cake and a smash cake all from scratch!! It was baking mayhem!! This year was a touch calmer.
Aside from the usual kids drinks of juice boxes and chocolate milk we also made Pink lemonade.
The cupcakes we're delicious .. I made our daughters special by placing her cupcake a vintage teacup .. Our daughter loved it!
We made this cute triple sided cut out box with a door for the kids to play in and create a great photo-op.. It was a huge hit with the kids and parents a like.
She absolutely loved her party and its so great to have all the pictures as memories.

ReplyDeleteSo adorable 2nd birthday party! I love all the décor. You did wonderful arrangements my friend. I also need to rent a space for an event and have been seeking recommendations for the outdoor places. Could you please share some suggestions?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting and your sweet comments. For outdoor party options you could look into renting a park neat or on your local waterfront or maybe even a local golf course venue with outdoor space? Wishing you the best in your party planning future!
