Christmas Home Tour 2015

Wow its Christmas time again.. Can't believe how fast time has been flying.. I was just pregnant last year, now this year we have an almost 5 month old!! Many of you who follow me know I just love my neutrals so this holiday season I tried to add splashes of more reds and greens. So this year was a little tricky trying to be creative and still quick with 2 little monkeys around.. In all I tried to pay attention to detail while still keeping the house more minimal than years past. See our Full Christmas Home tour by clicking below...
Welcome to our Christmas Home tour! I'm going to keep this post less wordy and allow the holiday pics speak for themselves...Lets get started on our porch, classic preserved boxwood wreaths greet us along with a wooden vintage sled. I ended up decorating the wreaths with a ready made $2 burlap bows that I found at Rona a few weeks back.
Now lets get out of the cold and hop inside.. Upon our entry corbel table are wooden NOEL letters, I just love the easy use of a mini grapevine wreath instead of an 'O'! I purchased the whole set from  this ETSY shop. I placed faux pine branches inside a Galvanized tin vase.

A floral mesh wreath adorns our main hall mirror.

Our daughter was really into decorating our tree this year, helping me add decorations and passing me certain decor when I asked for it, It was all very cute! I only had to change around a few things ;)
For the mantel I kept it very simple with splashes of green and a mix of hobnail candles.. The mini polka dot galvanized planter pots hold mini Citrus Cypress trees.. while the faux pine branches help fill in the top of the mantel.
I purchased new stockings this year so our new little addition  and the rest of the family could all have matching ones :) The burlap stockings have a shabby chic feel to them with a cotton linen like ruffle, they are from Joss and Main . I personalized the stockings with these cute custom burlap tags made custom by my mom's Etsy shop.
On our sofa I added lots of festive red pillows, some of which I made, some my mom made and others were purchased like the silver star pillow from RH baby. Along with a striped red and ivory cotton throw from Homesense
To fit the tree we decided to change the placement of furniture around a bit.. I think I like it .. The best part is the window/ door area is more open for our daughter to look out. We moved the vintage ladder to the other wall to accommodate the tree and added a wooden star to the wall for a festive touch.
In our Dining Room, I kept decor to a minimal.. well minimal for me! :)
I used my antique dough bowl as a centrepiece and filled it with pine cones and large faux glittery pears. On top of our hutch I added a faux pine garland that I used on our stairs last year and paired with a galvanized olive basket and glittery reindeer.
For our living room, the subtle green and red theme continued with country wooden signs, Santa pillows and mini faux trees.

In the kitchen I hung simple garlands, one being this star dough garland I made last year. The rest of the kitchen remained fairly simple with a large wooden snowflake on top of our hood fan. Then I changed up our mini island with a bowl full of burlap balls, jute pears and ticking stripe fabric candy canes.
One of our newest holiday additions are these cute Kraft paper 12 days of Christmas envelopes, from this ETSY shop. I pinned the envelopes to jute string using mini wooden clothespins and hung it off our Hall mirror. They not only look cute but have a little sewn pocket to hold stickers for 12 day countdown to Christmas perfect for our daughters growing excitement.
Hope you enjoyed our tour, I had a lot of fun decorating our home.. Be back soon with more room by room details...

  1. I love how you used burlap and white in most of your Christmas decor! Your new stockings with the cute name tags are adorable too. Very unique. I'm such a fan of preserved boxwood so your wreaths on the front door really caught my eye. They make a nice alternative to the Christmas pine wreaths I usually see.
