Our Daughters Bedroom Nursery Reveal

With all this talk of the new baby and nurseries.. I realized I have yet to reveal our daughters current nursery. The bedroom was very dated when we purchased this home.. It had old Berber carpet and dated wallpaper and curtains with a valance.. Lets just say It was due for an update! We changed pretty much EVERYTHING in this room!!.. New window coverings, new chandelier, new wallpaper, new paint, new door hardware. We wanted a clean, fresh start for our daughters new bedroom.  Since she only lived in her previous nursery for the first 6 months before we moved, we wanted the room to have a similar look. Luckily for her, her new bedroom was a lot larger than her previous one so I was able to do more decorating here :) See more of the transformation below...

We painted the upper part of the walls BM classic gray and added this great beadboard wallpaper all around the lower 3/4 bottom part of the walls of her room.

We wanted her room to be a transitional space that she wouldn't grow out of too quickly.. The painted wooden light pink tonal alphabet letters leaning on the plate rail are completely removable. they are just leaned with blue tacky tape. So basically her room is light grey with white beadboard.
The crib is a Classic vintage look made new by Franklin and Ben.
New Linens.. Pink, pink and more pink.. The ruffled curtains from Restoration Hardware are super sweet, a little too sheer but they look and feel amazing. The Bedding is also from Restoration Hardware. The detailed coverlet is from a local baby boutique.
The blush colored ceiling medallion is a vintage inspired medallion from Rosenberry Room.. It was a splurge but I am so in LOVE with it. I literally look at it every day!! The chandelier is a vintage goodwill find that I painted with chalk paint. I added a simple ruffled tulle trim to jazz up a basic off-white lamp shade.

I hung a white ornate mirror lower on the wall, at a height perfect for our daughter .. for the next few years at least..  She's a real girly girl and loves to look at her clothes and headbands in her mirror ;)
The Ikea Hermes Dresser is great for storage of all things baby from diapers to sleepers.. I replaced all the knobs with these cute pink and off white striped ceramic knobs by Puska knobs.

The pin board was an Etsy purchase awhile back ..While all the fabric push pins, banner and burlap bird were all made by me.
I used the same antique farm bench as a Window seat from her precious nursery. It fits under the window perfectly and its a great way to display all the different fabric pillows that I made for her.
I collected fabric over the years for my future girls room.. so when I found out it was a girl I couldn't wait to start sewing.. I love the mix of all soft pastels.
On either side of the window seat bench I have book cases to display all our daughters decor.
Metal hooks hang just some of my favourite outfits.. Its so hard to just choose 2!

Here is our daughters Wall decor.. I have sung and hummed 'You are my sunshine' everyday to her since the day she was born.. The sign is from one of my favourite Etsy shops 'MyPrimitiveBoutique'.. Its also where I ordered her extra large polka dot #1 for her first birthday.
Twinkle twinkle sign was also purchased on Etsy.
The Ornate E and B burlap and wood frames are made by me, using vintage art my mom gave me from her childhood bedroom. Then I just simply covered the art with burlap as a backdrop and glued a painted wooden letter on top. New re-cylcled art with a family history.

  1. Sooooo cute! What a lucky little princess!

  2. Pinned! Fabulously romantic and subtle nursery. I love it.
Our nursery (here: twopluscute.com/pink-white-and-brown-nursery) look - and is - unfinished in comparison. I like how you lined the letters around the walls. I need some alphabet art and maybe this is what I am looking for.

Btw what was with people using that obnoxious banana yellow?

    1. Thank you for all your kind comments..Yes the room was definitely in need of some MAJOR updating!! We love it now ;)

  3. Just darling! It has such a sophisticated charm. The palette you chose is so soothing. We moved into a new house in the last year, too, and had a new baby. Her nursery is scheduled to reveal on my blog this weekend. Fun stuff!
