Fall Home Tour Part 2

Today is the last part of our Fall home tour, I just love decorating seasonally though I will admit this year it was a little challenging to find the time with an 8 week old and 2 and a half year old!! It came down to basically deciding where most stuff was going virtually in my mind as I paced around our home with a fussing, burping or sometimes sleeping baby.. Oh the things Mom's do! I have to say it really makes me feel better keeping up with something that I LOVE to do even though I know I should probably be napping when they do.. See how we decorated the rest of our house for fall by clicking below..

Our living room got some new pillow covers .. of course!! I just love pillows!! For our couch we kept things neutral by layering linen stripes pillows with faux grain sack and a natural floral patterned one and burlap LOVE script. The Love pillow was a newer find on Joss and Main, as was the floral cotton one earlier this year.
Our Ikea Liatorp Media bookcases got some minor seasonal changes. I took away some of the white/ sea inspired items and added in more earth tones and moss. One of our newer items is a glass jar wrapped in chicken wire which I placed these great wooden balls both from our local greenhouse. I FINALLY blocked our ugly receiver (not sure the proper tech. term for it) for our Cable/Internet with our wooden antique sewing machine drawers.. I just hated seeing it, I can't believe it took me so long to do something so simple!

On our coffee table trunk, I kept the sea grass tray where I finally got to use our new glass cloche with a wooden base and rope handle!! I have literally been eyeing this for a year now online, then one day I finally found on sale at a local shop nearby.  You can see the way our Vintage Trunk looked before HERE
The latest addition to our living room is this large industrial wall sconce. Love it!! Love it so much so that I had to have 2!! The other light is for our sons nursery. Eventually I thought he could have both for his big boy bedroom?? On the chaise I have a mix of different pillows, One is a vintage tablecloth that I cut to make the pillow and paired it with a basket weaved jute pillow which I also made a while back, I will be posting tutorials on both of those pillows soon.
The kitchen's Autumn changes consisted of removing most of the coastal elements which hurt my heart to do as its one of my fav. styles.. I replaced our sailboat with a more appropriate antique apple basket full of gold sprayed pine cones. The table got a new centrepiece display, and the chalkboard a fitting seasonal themed quote.
The antique dough bowls natural wood colouring lends to our fall theme. Inside the bowl I placed dried ornamental grass with dried hydrangeas both from our garden over top of moss.
Inside our large rustic wooden planter box I placed tiny dried white flowers into vintage mason jars. Above it hangs our chalkboard with a variety of festive Fall words.
Lastly our kitchen got a set of new striped tea towels, crisp green apples under a glass cloche...While on our kitchen island  I added a wooden chalkboard made to look like a vintage cutting board from Homesense and placed a galvanized tub full of dried hydrangeas on top.
Hope this inspired you to decorate for Fall. Happy Fall Everyone..

  3. Great part 2 tour! Love your chalkboard in the dining room - stealing your idea, and taking down a plate rack that has been on the wall for years and putting up a dyi chalkboard. I just purchased very similar dining chairs - can you let us know where you found the chairpads?

    1. Hi Lala, thanks so much for taking the time to comment. So happy I was able to inspire you to add a chalkboard to your dining room. :) Our cushion covers are from restoration hardware.. They are linen in the sand colour.

    1. Hi Katie, Thanks for stopping by! The wooden clock is from my local garden centre 5 or so years ago.. I would check wayfair.com as they have a huge selection on large wall clocks.. good luck with everything.
